Emirati-Womens-Day

Emirati Women's Day

The celebration of Emirati women's day has been announced for the first time on 15th August 2015 by Her Highness. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

During the old days, Emirati women were raised to be very shy. However, they had a crucial role in keeping the family together, providing them with all their needs. UAE women have traditionally been working very hard in the backstage in every role they play. Therefore, there is a remarkable change from the conventional ‘domestic’ roles in the past to leadership positions today. Emirati women now contribute tremendously to the economic growth of the country by participating in almost every field. It is important to mention that there has also been a significant increase in the number of Emirati female entrepreneurs who are doing extremely well in jobs and they keep on growing widening the scope of knowledge and work.

As per studies, in 2018, Arab women have surpassed men in the use of social media in the United Arab Emirates. They communicate to the world on their strong views on women rights, political views and even political empowerment. Constant touch with the world also has broadened horizons for women in UAE with development in their technical and communication skills.

Digital technology has played a key role in helping female entrepreneurs to get every possible information through the internet and by providing the most important tool – ‘Social Media’. Women entrepreneurs in the UAE have sprung to action and now thrive on their independence by managing their personal and business life. On contrary to the stereotypes, social media is a platform where now they voice out their strong and unabashed opinions in all fields and have an audience for themselves encouraging them to be independent and be engaging influencers.

We at would like to congratulate all the Emirati Women for their partnership in the upbringing of this prosperous society.
